Rippy Chhabra, Homestay Coordinator
I love music, cooking, reading, interacting with people from all over the world and learning new exciting things about them, their countries and cultures.
I did my Bachelor of Arts with a Major in English Literature and Bachelor of Education in India. I am certified by the Ontario College of Teachers to teach the Junior and Intermediate divisions. I have done the CELTA to teach ESL and also a course in Special Education from the OISE. I am fluent in four Indian languages – Hindi, Urdu, Bengali and Punjabi. I thrive best in a multicultural atmosphere as is prevalent in India. When I came to Canada, I was delighted to find an extension of the same environment in Toronto as well. I was working as a teacher and a coordinator for 13 years in India, teaching primarily English to High School students. In Canada, I have tried my hand in the retail industry, taught ESL to International students and now I have donned the role of a Homestay Coordinator at MLI. It is only after working here that I have realised my passion for utilising my educational, communication and problem solving skills to provide our students with the most wonderful cultural experience of their lifetime, here in Canada.
What I love about MLI:
I am filled with great pride and a sense of responsibility to be part of such an amazing team that strives to bring out the best in one and all. With each passing day, I am inspired and motivated to make a memorable difference in the day of a student or a host family.
